Welcome

The owners have lived on this property at Andersons Cove for more than 25 years, enjoying the creative process of constructing their dream lodge and landscaping their gardens.

Built in 2010, The Potting Shed was conceived as an art studio and quiet place for meditation and unwinding amongst the beautiful gardens.

In 2020 it was then decided that it was time for The Potting Shed to be repurposed to create an incredibly special retreat for others to enjoy, with a kitchen, bathroom, and hot tub added, among other amenities.

Set on the edge of native bush just below the working farm paddocks, The Potting Shed is completely private, being hidden from the view of any other building, far from any man-made noise, enhancing the peace and quiet.

The Potting Shed comes complete with everything you need to truly enjoy your stay. From a fully equipped Miele kitchen, Nespresso machine with capsules, Weber BBQ, an open fire to curl up beside on those cool winter evenings, and a sumptuous en-suite. Just outside the bedroom is the hot tub set at a relaxing 38°C for you to enjoy, morning and night.

Andersons Cove

Andersons Cove farm is one of only two properties with riparian rights and access to the 700m of white sandy beach, safe and quite private all- tide swimming, and fishing.

The only public access is an arduous scramble around the rocks from Langs Beach, or, of course, by sea.

Situated on 45 hectares - approx. 111 acres - here at Andersons Cove Farm we do a bit of everything. From running a small farm with sheep, steers, cows, and chickens. We maintain beautiful stands of native bush, a luscious citrus grove, fruit orchard, berry house, and picturesque gardens.

We even produce our own olive oil!

All water at The Potting Shed is from our 200,000lt supply and is filtered and UV ozone treated to the highest standard, with the purity tested on a regular basis.

Please Note:

Privacy is requested by the owners who live in their separate lodge on the beach. Guests are asked to please refrain from walking on the grass in front of the main lodge.

Entering / Leaving

The gate code you were given to enter the property will remain current for the duration of your stay.

The gates open automatically whenever you leave the property, no code required.

If you need to call emergency services, give them your code for access.

There is no key for The Potting Shed

Safe

There is a small safe in the owner’s lodge for those who need valuables stored.
However the likelihood of theft from the room is minimal, given the fact that the main gates are closed and there is CCTV monitoring.

Our local Saturday morning market is another great option for all your fresh produce and breads, this opens from 8am every Saturday morning outside the Mangawhai Tavern.
